Day 13 – Final day in NYC

Today was my last day in New York City (a few others were staying on in the city after our tour ends but I was flying out to Orlando the next day). I had joined the Contiki Optional of biking through Central Park along with Sam. Our tour manager walked us down to the meet up point (and it was a really long walk!). Once we got there, we meet up with our biking tour guide and split up into two groups and headed off. Turns out you have to be semi-fit to bike around Central Park – it’s not as flat as you’d think it would be. Of course, it didn’t help that I was starting to get sick. Central Park was really pretty though.

IMG_1511After we had finished at Central Park, Sam and I decided that we wanted to go to the Top of The Rock observation deck at Rockefeller Centre. This is a really good observation deck because you can see both Central Park and the Empire State building. You can even see the Statue of Liberty in the distance. I would definitely recommend Top of The Rock. It’s just a shame that the weather wasn’t that great on the day we visited.

IMG_1529For our final night in New York City, Sam, Courtney, Sarah and I joined up with Sam’s mum who was also in the city for a night time river cruise around the city. Unfortunately, 10 minutes into the cruise, I became quite sick and spend the entire thing bent over in my seat and didn’t get to see any of the views. After the cruise, some of the girls were going up the Empire State Building, but at this point I felt like death, and all I wanted to do was get back to the hotel asap. Really sad that I became sick on the last night in NYC, but I had a good time up until that point!
