Day 8 – Las Vegas

This morning we woke up to it raining! Yes, in Vegas – in the middle of the desert! We had nothing planned for today (although we did have our Limo Cruise later that night). So a bunch of us decided we needed to go and check out the Las Vegas Outlets. It worked out cheaper for all of us to hire a limo to take us down to the outlet mall.. so we did!

IMG_3664While we were shopping, the rain just kept getting heavier so we decided it was best to leave. Some of us had received these Extreme Weather Warning messages on our phone. As we reached the Strip, the craziest thing was happening – the Strip was flooding! Our driver told us it was the first time it had flooded in 10 years. Who would’ve thought that you’d come to the middle of the desert and it would flood! Crazy!

IMG_3666After we had dried off, it was time to get ready for the night’s activities. One of the Contiki Optionals was seeing LOVE by Cirque Du Soleil at The Mirage. At first I wasn’t going to go to this, but last minute decided to go and I’m so glad I did! It was amazing! Not to mention, the delicious cocktail you could get at the show lol!

IMG_1130Our Limos were waiting to take us on our bright lights of Vegas tour. To be honest, we had seen all the lights on our tour the night before so we mostly took the opportunity to drink the free (but disgusting) champagne. The tour ended at some really fancy nightclub (to be honest, I can’t even remember the name of the club or which hotel it was at – I was sort of over clubs at this point!) Belinda and Mark had booked a wrap around terrace suite at The Cosmopolitan, so Kellie and I headed over there instead to look at the views – and boy were they stunning! We even got to see the Bellagio Fountains – from above 🙂
