All right, so as promised, I am doing to update this blog with some posts about my trip last year. To recap, I did a Contiki – Best of USA, which encompassed Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas and New York. I then spent a week back in my old home-town of Orlando.
Los Angeles was the first stop on the tour. Our hotel was Hotel Figueroa. The hotel, built in 1925 and apparently haunted, is a quirky Spanish/Mediterranean boutique hotel.
While it wouldn’t be my first choice in a hotel (every time I got in the elevator I thought it was going to break), it was quite well-located and comfortable/clean enough.
We started off the first day in LA with a walking tour of Downtown Los Angeles.
Then we set off for Hollywood, Santa Monica and Venice Beach. We drove down Sunset Strip and through Beverley Hills.
The first day was a great over-view of the city of Los Angeles. Our Contiki Tour Manager Craig (or Greg with a C as we called him). Although I had been to LA before, I got to see more of the city and some of those iconic LA places that every tourist has to visit.
